These are just some of the beautiful areas to explore around Northern California. Most of these are within a three hour drive from Redding. We truly live in a beautiful area of the country.

The first five pictures feature Lassen Volcanic National Park. There are many different hiking trails, lakes and campgrounds throughout the park and the outlying area. |

This particular picture was taken on the trail to Bumpass Hell, part of the sulphur works of this volcanic area.

These next two pictures are of Butte Lake, a more remote area within Lassen Park. There are many hiking trails in this area, and excellent opportunities for backpacking. |

This spot is an easy day-hike from the Butte Lake Campground. You don't get views like this from hotel rooms. |

More of the coast. While it is often overcast, those rare sunny days on the coast are absolutely gorgeous. |

Of course, some of us think the overcast days are just as beautiful as the sunny ones. This view is from Clam Beach, just north of Eureka.

The rock in the distance in the middle of the photograph is the Trinidad Head. It is one of the landmarks of the Northern California Coast. Fishing charters can be arranged in Trinidad to go catch those deep sea beauties. We recommend releasing your catch and letting one of the area's fabulous seafood restaurants do the cooking. |

And what better way to close than with a Northern California sunset?
