BoardingAdmission & DischargeBoarder check-ins and pick-ups can happen at any time during normal office hours. Please plan on a small wait, as we are on a walk-in basis and there will often be other clients we are already assisting. We also perform a small exam at the time of admission, both to ascertain your pet's general health status and to ensure we are on the same page in terms of any medications to be given or other treatments to occur during your pet's stay with us. VaccinationsDogs: DHLP-PV-C (distemper-parvo combination), Bordetella (kennel cough) and Rabies are required Cats: FVRC-P (feline distemper) and Rabies are required All boarding pets are required to be current on their vaccinations at the start of boarding. If your pet's vaccinations were done at another hospital, you must bring proof with you or have it sent to us. If it is not on file when your pet is admitted, their vaccinations will be updated at that time. This is both for the protection of your pet and the other patients staying with us. If your pet is due for vaccinations, it is recommended to have the vaccinations updated approximately 2 weeks prior to the time of boarding, to give them time to take effect. ReservationsHolidays: Most of the time, our boarding services are on a walk-in basis. Reservations should be made for all pets needing to stay over Christmas or Thanksgiving. It is recommended to make your reservations 2-to-3 months in advance for these holidays. Very Large Pets: Our space for extra-large dogs is very limited, and we will take reservations for them year-round. AccommodationsRuns: Each run or cat cage has it's own fleece blanket for your pet to snuggle with. Most runs have a moveable grate or even a large pad so that those pets who feel a little stiff in the morning don't have to be directly on the floor. Food: We feed IVD brand diets, but if your pet is on a special food or is used to something different, you are more than welcome to bring his or her regular diet with you. Medications: If your pet is on medications, we can administer those as well, for a small additional fee. If you have medications at home, please bring them with you. Bathing: If your pet needs a bath or a nail trim during their stay, we are more than happy to do so. Personal ItemsPlease understand that we cannot hold on to cat carriers, as our storage space is limited. We also ask that you hang on to leashes and other detachable items. If you feel it is necessary to leave toys with your pet, please make sure they are large enough to not be easily swallowed or to slip down drains. In addition, please be advised that we are not responsible for lost or soiled items, should you choose to leave them with us. If you have further questions, or wish to inquire as to rates or setting up a reservation, please give us a call so that we can personally assist you.
